Two minor motor vehicle crashes were reported in the Owensville area over the holiday weekend.

At 2:50 p.m. May 26, Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. Evan Hane reports one of two Green Bay, Wis., motorcyclists traveling south on Highway 19 received minor injuries when one yielded to a vehicle turning off the highway and was struck by the other.

Amy S. Butterdrodt, 51, was operating a 2000 Honda Shadow as Michael A. Schultz, 57, was driving a 2015 Harley Davidson. Another vehicle was turning 100 feet north of Bem Church Road.

Butterbrodt’s cycle slid into Schutlz’s motorcycle and overturned as she was yielding for the turning vehicle. She was transported to Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan for treatment of minor injuries. She was wearing a helmet as was Schultz. The Shadow was towed from the scene by Triple L Towing. Schultz drove his motorcycle from the scene.

At 3:05 p.m. May 25 in Gasconade County, Christopher R. Helling, 24, Owensville, received minor injuries when he swerved to miss a deer while traveling south on Blue House Road, a quarter mile south of Route T.

Helling was driving a 2010 Dodge Avenger which went off the left side of the county road and collided with two trees, according to the report by Sgt. Kent M. Kreftmeyer. Helling was not wearing a seat belt. He was transported by private conveyance to Mercy Hospital Washington for treatment.

Triple L towed the car from the scene. “Total” damage was listed on the MSHP report.
