Noel E. Shoemaker, 80, Hermann, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at Hermann Area District Hospital.
He was born March 8, 1941, the son of the late Johnathan and Melva (Dotson) Shoemaker in Cuba.
He united in marriage to Kathryn L. (Slocum) Shoemaker, July 2, 1960.
Noel started his career working at Hawthorne. He has also worked for McDonnell Douglas, owned the Silver Dollar Restaurant in Swiss and worked in residential construction.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing grass and working on the farm.
He is preceded in death by parents Johnathan and Melva; brother Gerald Shoemaker; and sister Karen McGee.
Noel is survived by wife Kathryn Shoemaker of Hermann; daughter Rebecca Purdy and husband Arthur of New Haven; sons Jeffrey Shoemaker and wife Cheryl of New Port Richey, Fla., and Jerry Shoemaker and wife Sherry of Gerald; sisters Lois Scego of Owensville, and Frances Williamson of Washington; and seven grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials suggested to Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
