Whether it was on the field or in the classroom, Owensville Dutchmen and Dutchgirl athletes competing in cross country, football, volleyball, softball and cheerleading enjoyed plenty of it.

While several athletes were recognized by the Four Rivers Conference (FRC) for the efforts on the field or the court, even more recently received Academic All-FRC honors.

In order to earn Academic All-FRC recognition, each student-athlete has to maintain at least a 3.6 grade-point average during their respective season.

Nine seemed to be the magic number with football, volleyball and softball each having nine qualify for Academic All-FRC honors.

Finishing 7-3 on the field, Dutchmen football players earning Academic All-FRC nods included TJ Whelan, TC Fisher, Lucano Guerrero, Brayden Edwards, Derek Brandt, Austin Lowder, Charlie Whelan, Bryce Payne and Hayden Shoemaker.

Volleyball Dutchgirls earning Academic All-FRC honors included Cadi Ruth, Emily McKinney, Grace McFalls, Olivia Vandegriffe, Kyla Hendrix, Keira Hendrix, Anna Heidbrink, Kylie Kitchen and Josie Gerlemann.

Softball Dutchgirls selected for Academic All-FRC honors were Alyssa Belloir, Paige Bossaller, Gabby Bunners, Halie Boyer, Katelyn Landolt, Kaitlyn Nelson, Anna Finley, Addison Wright and Emma Daniels.

Raquel Bunton’s Owensville High School football cheerleaders saw six members of her squad earn Academic All-FRC accolades.

They included Christina Becker, Alisen Chapman, Kaylee Fisher, Emily Marquez, Ahna Rasmussen and Josie Wilka.

Rounding out the list of Academic All-FRC student athletes for the fall were a quartet of Dutchgirl cross country runners.

Those harriers included Mekayla Gibson, Katie Candrl, Kate Angell and Kyah Weirich.

More honors are possible for these fall student-athletes as Academic All-State selections will be made likely after the conclusion of the first semester in their respective sports.
