Osage County crash leaves Gerald man with moderate injuries

A Gerald man, Chance L. Blaine, 20, suffered moderate injuries in a crash in Osage County Wednesday, Dec. 4.

A report filed by Tpr. A. J. O’Brien with Troop F of the Missouri State Highway Patrol provided details of the accident.

Blaine was traveling west on U. S. Highway 50 near West Anna Lane around 8 a.m. As he slowed to make a left turn in the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am he was driving his vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a westbound 2015 International tractor trailer.

The International, driven by William L. Bailey, 66, of Bloomsdale, Mo., had failed to slow down to accommodate Blaine’s vehicle.

Both drivers were using seat belts, but Blaine was transported by Osage County EMS to Capital Region Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Bailey was uninjured.

The International had moderate damage, while the Grand Am was totalled in the crash. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
