OWENSVILLE —William Tyler Mogensen, 20, of Owensville is facing multiple charges related to an alleged road incident Oct. 4 including the class D felony of aggravated fleeing a stop or detention, and misdemeanors of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle sounding siren and displaying red/blue light (class A), operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident (class A), driving while intoxicated (class B) and first offense operating a vehicle on highway without a valid license.
According to the Owensville Police Department (OPD), Mogensen was observed driving aggressively by an officer and when they attempted to conduct a road stop, fled. He allegedly reached speeds of 80 mph in a 35 mph zone and 100 mph in the 55 mph zone of Highway Y before losing control of the vehicle near the area of Highway Y and Peaceful Valley Road and striking a ditch. The officer reports smelling the odor of alcohol, a cold Natural Light beer can being present in the car, Mogensen having slurred speech, hesitant movements, glassy-watery eyes and appeared to be confused, as well as locating a fraudulent form of identification that depicted him but had an age indicating he was 22. His actual license was confirmed by dispatch to be expired or invalid. After refusing consent for a blood sample, a warrant was obtained and his blood was taken and secured as evidence.
Mogensen was taken into custody the same day and bond has been set at $5,000 cash or surety. He remained in custody Tuesday at Osage County Jail.
John Carl Johnson of Jefferson City was charged Monday with the class E felony of third degree domestic assault through an investigation by the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO). According to the probable cause statement, GCSO received a report from an individual involved two years prior with Johnson that while they were dining together, a verbal argument ensued regarding their past relationship. Then, later that night while traveling south on Highway 19, while driving he allegedly struck her multiple times in the head with a closed fist, causing her head and face to strike the interior of the vehicle. There was visible redness, swelling and bruising to her face, eye socket, upper lip and arm, according to the report.
Johnson was later arrested at his residence by the Cole County Sheriff’s Office. He reportedly stated that he was being slapped by the alleged victim in the vehicle. Bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety with arraignment set for 9 a.m. today (Wednesday), before Associate Circuit Judge Ada Brehe-Krueger. He was transferred from Cole County to Gasconade County on Tuesday. Special conditions of the warrant include no contact with the victim.
Brittney Renee Cruts of Hermann was charged Oct. 3 with the class A misdemeanors of fourth-degree assault, special victim, and violation of an adult order of protection in an Oct. 2 investigation by the Hermann Police Department (HPD). Cruts allegedly was sending numerous unwanted messages to an individual using crude language and, after an ex parte order was filed, was messaging another person in the victim’s household. HPD reports after being arrested, Cruts refused to participate in booking procedures and demanded to be seen at Hermann Area District Hospital for unknown reasons before being determined as fit for confinement. The officer stated Cruts kicked him in the leg while getting into the vehicle and exhibited “such abhorrent behavior” at the hospital that she had to be sedated.
Cruts was in custody of Gasconade County as of Tuesday. Bond was set at $2,500 and a bond review hearing is scheduled today with Brehe-Krueger.
An arraignment has been scheduled for Jeremy Martin Willimann of Rosebud on Nov. 6 at 9 a.m before Circuit Judge Ryan Jerome Helfrich. Willimann was charged in May with the class E felony of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage exceeding $1,000. The Missouri Highway Patrol reported Willimann, while traveling through a construction zone on Highway 50 in Gasconade County, allegedly caused a flagger to jump out of the roadway to avoid being struck by his vehicle, struck another vehicle stopped in traffic, and fled the scene without stopping.
