A 17-year-old Owensville boy driving a 2006 Nissan Altima south on Route Y on Thursday night near Peaceful Valley Road crossed into the oncoming lane and struck another motorist head-on, injuring both the driver and his female passenger.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report on the crash at 10:39 p.m. Oct. 2, a 51-year-old man from Bland was the driver of a northbound 2001 Jeep Cherokee when the teen driver came into his lane. The teen’s vehicle went off the road and overturned. The Jeep’s driver and his passenger, identified as a 45-year-old Owensville woman, both refused medical treatment at the scene although the MSHP reports both had moderate injuries. The teen was transported by ambulance to Phelps Health in Rolla for treatment of reported moderate injuries.
No of the three individuals involved in the crash were wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP report. Both vehicles were listed with “total” damage and removed from the scene by Triple L Towing in Owensville.
A rear-end collision Saturday evening on Highway 19 and Route V south of Owensville injured a 71-year-old Owensville woman driving a 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer, according to the MSHP.
The woman was following a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado, being driven by a 60-year-old Rosebud woman, who was slowing to make a left turn. The older woman struck the rear end of the slowing vehicle. Both women were wearing seat belts. The Owensville woman was transported by private conveyance for treatment of minor injuries at Mercy Washington. Both vehicles had “total” damage listed in the report and were removed by Triple L.
The crash was reported at 6 p.m. Oct. 4.
A 20-year-old Owensville man was a passenger in a 2003 GMC Envoy whose driver failed to negotiate curve on Route CC at North Oak Hill Road on Sept 28.
Both the passenger and the driver, a 22-year-old man from Sedalia, were transported by North Crawford County Ambulance District personnel for treatment of serious and moderate injuries respectively, following the crash reported at 7:15 p.m. that Sunday evening in northern Crawford County.
The vehicle went off the left side of the road, overturned, and the struck a tree. The vehicle had total damage and was removed by Chris and Son’s Towing. They had been traveling west on Route CC.
