Owensville Walmart store No. 0354 began its 15-year remodel this week, according to store manager Glenn Ely.
“We are touching everything in the building,” Ely said Tuesday about the amount of shipment containers they have outside the store to house products during the remodel.
This week, construction work will begin in pet food and lawn and garden. Ely said they plan to expand the product from suggestions the customers have provided over time.
“Refrigerated pet food, a huge assortment of things within the normal range,” Ely said. “Potbelly pig food, chicken food, and dog and cat feed.”
Ely said the remodel is planned as a 12-week project.
“As we get through weeks one and two, we are asking people to be patient,” Ely said. “We are getting new bathrooms and such and it will be ‘wow,’ but frustrating while we are doing it. I think they will be real excited when we get done.”
The Owensville facility underwent an extensive $750,000 resurfacing project to its parking lot and driving lanes in August 2019.
