Paul Edward Hinson, 80, Holts Summit, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at Boone Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Dec. 17, 1939, to Earl and Mabel (Branson) Hinson, in Owensville.
He was united in marriage to Cathey Campbell, Aug. 15, 1998, in Jefferson City.
Paul graduated from Owensville High School in 1957. He worked and later retired from Lever Brothers after 30 years. After retiring, Paul became a bus driver for the Handi Wheels and for the New Bloomfield school. He was a member of the Sportsman’s Club in Jefferson City and the Archery Club. Paul enjoyed the outdoors, he loved camping, hunting and fishing. Most of all, Paul treasured the memories created with his family. He was a huge proponent of foster care and loved his foster grandchildren as if they were his own.
Paul is preceded in death by parents, Earl and Mabel; sister, Bonnie Garstang; and son, John Paul Hinson.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Cathey Hinson; children, Dale Edward Hinson (Carrie) of Virginia, James Hinson (Rachel) of St. Peters, and DeAna Schulte (Brad) of Holts Summit; brother: Ronald Hinson (Laura) of Owensville; and grandchildren, Miles, Addison, Adam and Hannah Hinson, Brandon and Bradley Huhmann, Jazmyne, Gage and Kenny Schulte.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30, at Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Holts Summit. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 31, at Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Holts Summit with Elder Randy Folliard officiating.
