Police investigating recent thefts of catalytic converters

Owensville police are investigating two thefts this past week of catalytic converters.

On Feb. 8 police responded to the 3400 block of Kuhne Road in reference to a stolen catalytic converter, according to City Marshal Robert Rickerd. On Feb. 12 OPD took a phone call from an individual whose catalytic converter was stolen from his vehicle parked at Lakeside Book Company. An investigation into both incidents continues, according to Rickerd.

City police on Feb. 8 responded to Breaktime in reference to shoplifting. One juvenile will be charged through juvenile court for shoplifting. Another individual will be charged for resisting arrest through city court. An investigation will continue. 

Also on Feb. 8, during the afternoon hours, Matthew Lee, 37, came to the Owensville Police Department to turn himself in on an active warrant out of the city of Owensville. Bond was posted. 

That same day police also responded to the 400 block of North First Street in reference to a suspicious person. An investigation continues.

And on Feb. 8, an OPD officer observed a motorcycle without a working head lamp. A traffic stop was conducted and one juvenile, the driver, will be charged for equipment violation.

On Feb. 13, OPD responded to the 400 block of South First Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. At this time, no charges will be filed.

On Feb. 14, police processed an woman with an active warrant wanting to turn herself in. Destiny Jones, 21, turned herself in on a traffic citation out of Gasconade County.

And on Feb. 18, police responded to the 300 block of East Jackson Avenue in reference to a verbal domestic pertaining to a child custody issue.
