The Gasconade County R-2 Board of Education met May 18 and approved the following resignations and employment.

Resignations approved with a 7-0 vote included Kelsey Lowe, assistant track coach; and released Jonathan Logan, OMS vocal music teacher, and Molly Munsinger, OES Special Education teacher from their respective 2020-21 contracts, pending a suitable replacement, all fees paid and paperwork completed.

Both Logan and Munsinger were charged a “liquidation fee” to terminate their contracts after the April 30 deadline. May 1-14 equals a fee of 1 percent of a non-tenured teacher’s annual contracted salary and May 15-21 equals a 2 percent fee.

“Once they decide to leave after a certain date they know they have to be charged a penalty or fine,” Board Secretary Peggy Lindhardt explained.
