Raymond Orville McFalls, 83, Cuba, passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at his residence in Cuba.

Raymond was born Feb. 8, 1938, to Orville and Bernice (Schrieber) McFalls in Granite City, Ill.

He worked in Forestry for the Conservation Department of Illinois until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Marines from April 20, 1959 to April 12, 1963, achieving rank of Private First Class. Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He attended The Ridge Church in Sullivan.

He was preceded in death by parents, Orville and Bernice McFalls; son Jeffery Raymond McFalls; brother Gary McFalls; and sister Arlene Votoupal.

He is survived by daughter Theresa Watson and husband Lee of Cuba; sons Jason McFalls and wife Laurie of Owensville, and Keith McFalls of Sullivan; sisters Sherrill Clinard of Granite City, Ill., and Melba Russell of Union; brother Larry McFalls and wife Theresa of Vanzant; grandchildren Amber Henry and husband Erin, Katy Watson, Loren Pfeil and husband Jacob, Grace McFalls and Elise McFalls; and great-grandchildren Collin and Hunter Henry.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel, Owensville, with Pastor Jeff Remelius officiating.

Burial was at St. John’s UCC Cemetery, Bem, with full military honors.

Memorials suggested to the American Cancer Society.
