Asked Thursday what advice Gasconade County R-2 School District retirees had for their co-workers, Frank Brocato deadpanned, “Save your money,” prompting reactions from fellow employees Peggy Linhardt, Bethany Jacobs, Opal Buddemeyer, and Linda Rasmussen. Superintendent Dr. Chuck Garner acknowledges the applause he received during a standing ovation to conclude the luncheon and awards ceremony for retiring staff. Garner retires at the end of June after 11 years in the district and 30 in education. Applauding are R-2 staff Briana Decker, Peggy Linhardt, new assistant superintendent Dr. Staci Johnson, Nancy Landwehr, and Melissa Bauer.
