Currently a graduate assistant coach for the St. Louis University (SLU) Women’s Basketball team, former Dutchgirl basketball player Hailey Diestelkamp will be honored yet again by Drury University (DU).

At halftime of DU’s home opener against Minnesota-Duluth on Tuesday, Nov. 16, Diestelkamp and former DU teammate Daejah Bernard will both have their jerseys retired.

Diestelkamp wore number 34 while Bernard wore number five.

This ceremony will mark just the second and third jerseys retired in the history of the DU women’s basketball program.

HD and Bernard will join former Lady Panther Amanda Newton-Plottner (2002-06) as the only three players to have their jerseys displayed in the rafters of the O’Reilly Family Event Center.

During her playing days in a Lady Panther uniform, Diestelkamp amassed 2,321 points and 1,101 rebounds making her Drury’s all-time leader in both statistical categories.

She also became the sixth player in the history of NCAA Division II Women’s basketball to surpass 2,300 career points and 1,100 career rebounds.

In addition to her eye-popping scoring and rebounding numbers, Diestelkamp was a two-time NCAA Division II Player of the  Year in addition to being named the Most Valuable Player of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament three times.
