Robert “Bob” Bohl, 80, Hermann, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at Stonebridge Hermann.

He was born in Hermann, on Aug. 2, 1941, the son of the late Edmund A. and Narcissa (Hensley) Bohl.

He was united in marriage to Katherine “Kay” Keller on Aug. 24, 1963, in Stolpe, Mo. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2016.

Bob was an alumni of the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was involved in the Hermann Jaycees, the Hermann Lion’s Club, was a former school board member, a 4-H leader, and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ of Hermann. He spent over 50 years on the Gasconade County Fair Board and was on the livestock committee. He spent 28 years on the Boeuf and Berger Mutual Insurance Board and is a former board member of the Hermann Community Foundation.

He was passionate about Hermann sports and performing arts. He loved cheering on the Hermann Bearcats and was always a loud spectator. In 2017 he was recognized with the Spirit of the Bearcat Award.

Bob was devoted to education and started the dual enrollment scholarships at the high school. He was always drumming up support and money for scholarships.

Bob managed Moval Farms, Bohls’ Rentaspace and Bohls’ Mobile Home Court. He had a creative mind and loved to create woodworking pieces.

He is preceded in death by parents E.A. and Narcissa Bohl; wife Kay Bohl; son Curtis Bohl; granddaughter Anneka Bohl; and brother Edmund Bohl, Jr.

Bob is survived by daughter Betty Vollmar of Ballwin; daughter Kim Godat and husband Nick of Hermann; son John Bohl and wife Megan of Hermann; daughter Mary Goth and husband Mark of Cottleville; grandchildren Wyatt Vollmar, Grant Vollmar and fiance’ Olivia Coons, Madeline, Brittany and fiance’ Dylan Hidritch, Emma and Grace Godat, Sophia and JJ Bohl, and Urban and Caroline Goth; and devoted companion Carol Starke.

Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 27, from 4–8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.

Funeral. services will be Friday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery, Stolpe.

Memorials suggested to Community Foundation Dual Credit Fund or to E.A. Bohl Scholarship.
