Roger Monroe Collier, 90, Fayette, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at University Hospital in Columbia.

He was born April 17, 1932, to William R. and Flora (Nowack) Collier in St. Louis.

He was united in marriage to Bonnie Sue Raver, Dec. 31, 1953, at St. Louis.

Roger graduated from Owensville High School in 1950. During his junior year at OHS, Roger was part of the basketball team known as the Dream Team. They finished with a record of 34-2. He enjoyed reading, gardening, doing family genealogy, and spending time with his friends at the coffee shop. He was a communications engineer for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Roger served his country during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by wife Bonnie Collier; brother Donald Collier; sisters Willadeen Hengstenberg, Burnadine Branson and Betty Caldwell; and great-grandson Archer Monroe Cook.

He is survived by daughter Lisa Cook and husband Tony of Fayette; son Robert Collier of Rolla; grandchildren Tyler Cook and wife Kristan of Edmond, Okla., and Rebecca Collier of Dallas, Texas; and great-grandson Julian Cook.

Visitation will be Friday, June 10, from 2–3 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel, Owensville, with funeral services following with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial will be at Owensville City Cemetery.
