Roger Lee Grob, 82, Gerald, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at Gasconade Manor in Owensville.

He was born June 29, 1939, to Albert and Lenora (Ridder) Grob in Leslie.

He was united in marriage to Gloria Tegeler, June 20, 1959, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Gerald.

Roger was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge No. 624, Eastern Star No. 414 and the Shriners. He was a carpenter for many years, building numerous homes in Washington and Gerald. He then opened Roger Grob Real Estate in Gerald in 1983 and sold real estate until he sold the business in 2000. He was president of Franklin County Board of Realtors in 1992. In 1976, they bought the Community Hardware Store in Gerald and operated it for seven years. He was on the advisory board for St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Washington for over 25 years. He spent many years on the Gerald/Rosebud Fire Department and was chief for two years; he owned and operated Northview Mobile Home Park; helped develop the Gerald Chamber of Commerce; and enjoyed farming their family farm. After retiring, he and Gloria enjoyed traveling and spending time with their daughters and families.

He was preceded in death by parents Albert and Lenora; and sister Colleen Wipke.

He is survived by wife Gloria of their home; daughters Cindy Cromer and husband Joe of Grain Valley and Jeanette Baumbach and husband Keith of Gerald; grandsons Brandon Capranica of Oak Grove and Seth Cromer of Grain Valley; and great-grandson Hunter Haugen.

Visitation will be Friday, May 20, from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel, Owensville, with Masonic and Eastern Star Services at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Gerald, with Pastor Glenn Hollander officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Gerald.

Memorials suggested to Shriner’s Hospital and/or St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.
