Roger Loyd Tayloe, Sr., 88, Owensville, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning, Friday, July 23, 2021, at his residence.

He was born July 20, 1933, to George Oscar and Florence (Graves) Tayloe in Berkeley.

He was united in marriage to Patricia M. Morrow, Nov. 2, 1956, in Arnold.

Roger served his country with the U.S. Marines as a Sergeant. He attended the New Hope United Methodist Church in Owensville and was a member of the St. Louis Masonic Lodge recognized with 50 years of service. He retired as a vice president of manufacturing in the machining business. He was one of the founders of Lake Northwoods Estates. Roger continued as president of the Lake Northwoods Property Owners Association until his passing. He enjoyed working on many projects at his home and around the lake. He loved his family and he was loved greatly and respected by many.

He was preceded in death by parents, George and Florence; and siblings, Rosalie (Tayloe) Ragland, Edward H. Tayloe and Robert E. Tayloe, Sr.

He is survived by wife, Patricia of the home; children, Cindy Scheel and husband Terry of Owensville, Roger Tayloe, Jr. and wife Denise of Rochester, Mich., Pamela Zito and husband Michael of Frederick, Md., and Missy Weston and husband Russ of Olathe, Kan.; brothers, William Tayloe, of Owensville and George Tayloe and wife Beverly of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Joshua L. Scheel and wife Shelly, Terry L. Scheel, Adam R. Tayloe, Allison M. Tayloe and Alec L. Tayloe, Jennifer M. Belloir and Larry L. Belloir, Angela C. Winkleman and husband Michael, Aaron R. Weston, Megan R. Durfey and husband Jason and Kaleb N. Weston; and great-grandchildren, Gauge and Kira Scheel, Adian and Rowan Thurkow, Jeremiah and Scarlet Cunningham, Brody Pruit, Castiel Winkleman, Clayton and Paxton Durfey.

Visitation will be today, Wednesday, July 28 from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 29 at 10 a.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church in Owensville with Rev. Amy Turner officiating. Burial will be in Owensville City Cemetery.
