Ruby Maxine Withouse, 85, Owensville, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021, at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville after battling heart disease.
She was born Feb. 16, 1936, to George and Anna (Gerloff) Crider of Bland.
She was united in marriage to Jesse (Joe) Withouse of Bland, Nov. 26, 1977.
Ruby was preceded in death by father, George, in 1968; mother, Anna, in 1999; husband, Jesse, in December of 1996; brother, Winford, in May 2020; and aunt, Orilla Schneidewind, in 2008.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita Rutherford and husband Steven of Columbia; son, Steve Brewer of Edwards; granddaughter, Heather Schmidt and Xavien of Columbia; grandson, Jeffrey Brewer of West Virginia; great-grandchildren, Cambree, Zaiden, Caroline, Rhys and Grant; and sister, Lorene Fowler of Bay.
Dance halls were a big part of Ruby’s younger years. She would spend many Saturday nights listening to music and engaging in the country two step, jitter bug, waltz and the twist. She loved animals and was a huge PET supporter. Spending time with friends and family made her happy. Several times a week she would visit the senior center and catch up with friends over lunch. Fridays were a special routine which involved an afternoon of shopping and an early evening of eating out with her best friend and sister, Lorene. Whenever you saw one, there was the other.
We will miss you mom, grandmother, sister and dear friend.
Memorial contributions requested to American Heart Association. Services are private, but for those attending masks are requested to be worn.
