Sherylene Maxine “Sherry” Horton, Bland, passed away peacefully Oct. 28, 2021, surrounded by family. She had reached the age of 64 years, five months and seven days.
She was born May 21, 1957, to the late Raymond and Carol (Bodkin) Wright in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Sherry enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and horses. She worked as a secretary for Woody Bogler Trucking and was a member of Owensville Moose Lodge.
She is survived by her companion of 19 years, Mark Thompson of their home; children Melissa Horton and David Spencer of Gladbrook, Iowa, Phillip Thompson and wife Lindsay, Patrick Thompson and Paula Copeland, and Brooke Johnson and husband Adam all of Owensville. She was a grandmother to Mason Oakes of Tama, Iowa, Evan Philo of Gladbrook, Iowa, Jay, Drew, Parker, Brenner, Carly, Ross, Halle, Ryleigh, Ellah and Braxton all of Owensville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
