Site work begins for police station

Posted

Owensville Public Works employees have begun site preparations for the city’s new police station being constructed along Highway 28. Workers excavated a water retention structure and installed a concrete dropbox a week ago. Later in the week, they completed the digging and installation of a drainage pipe to carry water from the site under the Missouri Department of Transportation Department’s commuter parking lot to the Highway 28 ditch. On Monday city workers were excavating topsoil to set the elevation for the parking lot and roadway leading to the new station. Bids for construction of the new facility were due by 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) and were scheduled to be read publicly at that time. The city has budgeted $1.1 million for the facility in fiscal year 2020-21 which begins July 1.
