So Grannys and Grampas can have fun, food and friends

In today’s society it seems you read more about what is wrong with today’s youth. It is on a rare occasion that you get the opportunity to recognize young children for an admirable trait.

Earlier this fall I was visited at the Owensville Senior Center by a pair of young boys, their mother, and great-grandparents, Jerry and Linda Bunting of Owensville. The boys, Ezra and Wesley Feco, age 3 and 6, were here to make a cash donation to the center. I was presented with a cash donation in an envelope with a note on the outside that read “So Grannys & Grampas can have food, fun and friends.”

The boys’ parents, Cory and Ashley Feco, are teaching their sons the value of helping others when the opportunity is available. The money was from sales of aluminum and small change picked up throughout the year.
