Sophia Helena Moeller) Estes, 94, Centennial, Colo., previously of Owensville, passed away, May 22, 2021, at her granddaughter’s residence, in Denver, Colo.
She was born April 30,1927, to Henry and Willamina (Schlottoch) Moeller of Owensville.
She was united in marriage to John W. Estes, Dec. 4, 1948 in Sedalia. They resided in St. Louis and in 1960 they moved to Pueblo, Colo. and in 1964 to Denver Colo. She spent most of her working career in the commercial insurance industry. She was a member of the Holy Spirt Lutheran Church in Centennial CO. Her interests were quilting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and canning. She enjoyed many visits back to Missouri and her vacation to Germany to visit friends and family.
Sophia was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Willamina; husband, John; son, Steven; sisters, Hilda and Freida; brother, Freddy; and granddaughter Kiegan Estes.
She is survived by children, Nancy Murray and husband Douglas of Centennial, Colo., Mark of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren Joshua Murray and wife Amy, Lauren (Murray) Danforth and husband Jeffrey, Jacob Murray, Cole Estes and wife Kayla, Abraham Estes and great grandchildren Tyler and Mikayla Murray and Matthew and Claire Danforth.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 18, at the Red Rocks Fellowship Church. Interment followed at the Chapel Hill Olingers Cemetery in Centennial, Colo.
Memorial contributions suggested to Old Woollam St. John’s Cemetery in Mo.
