Stanley Eugene Lowder, 84, Owensville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, at his residence.
He was born April 20, 1938, to Stanley Stewart and Eva Eugenia (Large) Lowder in Talkington, Ill.
He was united in marriage to Margaret Jackson, March 27, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Stanley had served his country with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville, Knights of Columbus 6365, Teamsters Local #710 where he had served as Union Steward, Moose Lodge and the Elks. He enjoyed visiting with people, especially his family and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He was preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Eva; wife, Peggy; and sister, Connie.
He is survived by sons, Mike Crowe and companion Theresa Hedrick of Jefferson City, David Crowe of Wright City, Stanley Lowder Jr. and wife Renee of Covington, La., Allen Lowder and wife Michelle of Owensville, Yancy Kamine of Kansas City, Jim Harvey and fiancé Stephanie Madden of Valparaiso, Ind. and Stuart Lowder and wife Sandra of Fredricktown; daughters, Debbie Sue Whirrell and husband James of Washburn, Ill., Becky Stephens and husband William of Belvidere, Tenn. and Maggie Harvey of Kansas City; and 30 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 27, from 9-11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Jim Foster officiating. His ashes will be interred in West Cemetery in Auburn, Ill.
