An Owensville woman was travelling east on Route C in Crawford County on May 7 when a pedestrian stepped into her path, four-tenths of a mile northwest of Bourbon.
The incident took place at 3:10 p.m. as Carol M. Brinson, 58, was travelled east on Route C, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s report by Trooper C.M. Barclay.
Cordell W. Watson, 17, of Cuba, turned to cross the road without looking and stepped into Brinson’s path.
Watson was transported from the scene by an AirEvac helicopter ambulance for treatment of serious injuries to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.
Brinson was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Assisting the MSHP at the scene were the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, Bourbon firemen and ambulance personnel from the North Crawford district.
