Terry Joseph Dempsey born August 6, 1966 to Kenneth and Bonnie Dempsey. He passed away on Friday October 9, 2020 at the age of 54 years, 2 months, and 5 days.
He grew up in Owensville where attended Gasconade County R-2 schools. Terry was joined in holy matrimony to Sheryl Lynn Camden on November 8, 1986 in Bland. From this union two sons were born. He attended Ranken Technical College where he studied heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Terry worked various HVAC jobs until he started his own HVAC business. He continued for many years until his oldest son Chris took over and named it Dempsey Heating and Cooling.
Terry worked hard providing for his family. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed teaching both his sons mechanical skills. Terry loved to have a good time and loved his dogs, Buddy and Freckles.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sheryl “Sherri” Lynn Dempsey; parents Kenneth Dempsey and Bonnie Villhard; fathers–in–law Bob Camden and Victor Schaefferkoetter; stepmother Rita Dempsey.
He is survived by his sons Christopher (Crystal) Dempsey of Jonesburg and Tyler (Lindsay) Dempsey of Cuba; siblings Tommy (Tuffy) Dempsey of Bland, Tim (Lisa) Dempsey of Hermann, Tracie (Jeff) Wilmoth of Vienna,Tom (Stephanie) Villhard. Jr of Arnold, Lynn (Jeff) Calvird of St. Charles, Kurt Steffan of St. Louis, Earl (Christine) Steffan of St. Louis, and Denise Steffan of St. Louis; stepfather Tom Villhard Sr. of Dixon; mother-in-law Connie Schaefferkoetter of Owensville; brother-in-law Kevin (Jennifer) Camden of Perryville; sister-in-law Angie (Cindy De Vore) Kurgas of Owensville; grandchildren Matthew Dempsey, Cayden Dempsey, Gracie Lammert, Lacey Dempsey, Lance Dempsey, and Callie Mae Jones; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2020 at the 1st Assembly of God Church Leasburg. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor James Delacourt officiating.
