Thelma Fogerson 94, of Houston, Texas, passed away Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019.
She was born Jan. 20, 1925, to Walter and Olga Ahlemeyer, at Leslie.
She was united in marriage to Peter Fogerson, in 1974.
Thelma was baptized and confirmed at Leslie United Methodist Church. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Texas. She attended Little Creek Elementary School and graduated from Union High School. She attended Missouri State University in Springfield and graduated with a BA in education. After graduating high school, she began teaching grades 1-8 at Little Creek one-room school. She then taught eighth grade at Beaufort Elementary, followed by seventh grade math at Clark Vitt Junior High in Union and sixth and seventh grade math at Jackson Intermediate School in Pasadena, Texas.
She was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Olga; son, Dale Greife; and brother Walter Ahlemeyer.
She is survived by husband, Peter; sons, Wayne Greife and wife Joyce of Gerald, Bill Greife and wife Marilyn of Beaufort and Steve Greife and wife Debra of Pasadena, Texas; step-daughter, Roxanne Walden of Kerrville, Texas; brothers, Milfred Ahlemeyer and wife Marilyn of Bakersfield, Calif., and Louis Ahlemeyer and wife Nadine of Sedalia; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, at 10:30 a.m. at Leslie United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions suggested to Union R-XI Foundation Scholarship, Class of ‘68 Dale Greife Memorial Scholarship.
