Thelma Ruth Jost, 74, Owensville, was born on Sunday, July 21, 1946 in Bourbon, to the union of Allen and Elizabeth (Smith) Rogers. She left from this life at her home, surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 22, 2021.
She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Jost, Sept. 29, 1962 in Owensville. To this union three children were born Machelle, Regina and Scott.
Ruth worked as a cosmetologist for many years, serving clients in House Springs and Newark, Del. She enjoyed crocheting, flower arranging, baking cakes, creating photo albums, picking crabs and traveling.
She was preceded in death by parents, Allen and Elizabeth; husband, Bill; brothers, Chester and wife Joy Rogers and Jack Rogers; sisters, Martha and husband Clifford Wilcox, Sue Ellis and Bessie Rogers; brothers-in-law, John Akers and Jerry Hudson; and son-in-law, Anthony Paul Rynkiewicz.
Those who are left to treasure her memory and continue her legacy are: her three children, Machelle Rynkiewicz and Regina Jost, both of Owensville, and Scott Jost of Lewes, Del.; grandchildren, Melanie McGaha, Aahron Jost and Abigail Rynkiewicz; great-grandchildren, Evan Sanders and Landyn Hunter; siblings, Esther Akers of Sullivan, Harold Rogers of Owensville and Mary Jane Hudson of Jefferson City; brother-in-law, Larry Ellis of Belle.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 26, at Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba with Pastor Ben Kingston officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba. Memorial contributions to the Youth Savings Fund for Thelma’s great-grandchildren are appreciated.
