Three locals involved in separate county crashes

An 84-year-old Gerald man was stopped in a 2006 Ford F-150 on State Route T on Wednesday, March 12. He began to cross Highway 100  failing to yield to traffic and drove into the path of a 2012 Kia
Sorento. The Kia then began skidding off the right side of the road.   The Ford truck skidded into the left side of a 2018 Kia Forte. Flying debris from the truck struck the top of a 2025 Toyota Camry.

Five people in the Camry-—including three children, the 17-year-old male driver of the Forte and the 51-year-old male driver of the Sorento were all transported by area ambulances to Mercy Washington with minor injuries. The Gerald man was taken to Mercy Creve Coeur with moderate injuries. All of the injured were using seat belts.

The following day, March 13, a 37-year-old Gerald man was driving a 2021 International MV607 westbound on Interstate 70 east of Truman Boulevard. He attempted to brake for a stopped vehicle ahead of him but skidded into  the rear of the 2013 Mazda. The Mazda was pushed into a 2008 Dodge Avenger. 

The 37-year-old female driver of the Avenger was transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters with minor injuries. All drivers were using seat belts.

The International was driven from the scene, the Mazda was towed with extensive damage and the Avenger remained roadside.

An 86-year-old Leslie woman was injured Friday, March 14,on southbound Route 185 at Little Boone Creek Road. She was driving a 2023 Buick Enclave when she failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the roadway,across a private drive and struck a road sign. The vehicle came to rest on its right side. 

Gerald ambulance transported her to Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan with minor injuries. She had been using her seat belt.

The Buick was totaled and towed from the scene.

Details of all three accidents were taken from reports filed by troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
