The Three Rivers Electric Cooperative Helping Hands Community Foundation awarded $10,000 to the Owensville Senior Center to assist with providing meals for their senior citizens.
“As we all know, the price of raw food goods has been steadily increasing over the past several years,” said Senior Center Administrator Sharon Nowack.
There are currently 386 participants served by the center. The organization has served 11,515 meals to homebound participants and 10,789 meals at the center from July 2023 to June 2024.
“This program helps to keep seniors in their homes longer and helps meet their needs to achieve the goal of an independent and healthy life at home,” Nowack said.
