Owensville High School freshman football player Ricky Marquez sits atop the shoulders of junior lineman Hayden Shoemaker for the singing of the school song following a Dutchmen Class 3 District 4 playoff win Friday over Westminster Christian Academy, 47-16. Assistant coaches Casey Fisher and Scott Lewis (right) join in on the celebration of the win which advances Owensville into a semifinal game Friday at Sullivan. Owensville enters the game with a 5-5 record. Sullivan is 8-2. The winner plays the winner of the other district semifinal game between St. James at St. Clair. If St. James, seeded No. 5, would upset the top-seeded Bulldogs, and No. 3 Owensville would defeat No. 2 Sullivan, Owensville would host the district championship game on Friday, Nov. 11.
