A crowd of around 100 people gathered in Union Tuesday afternoon to protest the murder of George Floyd by the now-former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. The protestors were generally received positive reactions. However, during a nine-minute silence, one man drove by and shouted, “Shoot ‘em all. Kill the bastards.” The protest was organized by a woman from St. Louis who grew up in St. Clair. There were no reports of violence or property damage. Local businesses donated water and snacks for the group.
