Only four new COVID-19 cases were confirmed this past week in Gasconade County and the 7-day PCR positivity rate was below 5 percent, according to Dr. Michael Rothermich, chief of staff at Hermann Area District Hospital.
The Centers for Disease Control reports as of Monday that 34 percent of Gasconade County residents are now vaccinated including 39 percent of those 12 or older, and 75 percent of those 65 or older. All Missourians are eligible for vaccination. The Moderna and J&J vaccines are authorized for people 18 and over, while the Pfizer vaccine is now authorized for people 12 and over. Vaccines are readily available. Call the Gasconade County Health Department for an appointment for the Pfizer vaccine at 573-486-3129.
