Virginia “Ginny” A. Cummings, 73, of New Florence, formerly of Winfield, passed away Aug. 30, 2019, at her home. 

She was born Oct. 21, 1945, to Robert and Dorothy Mae (Born) Cooksey. 

Ginny attended the local schools along with her brother, Sidney. 

On July 19, 1965, Ginny and Bobby Cummings were united in marriage in Steiger, Ill. To this union were born three sons: Bill, Chris, and Wayne. 

Ginny was employed as an insurance agent with GMAC for over 13 years. Ginny and Bobby moved to St. Charles once they were married and later moved to Winfield where they lived for 40 years. Once they reached retirement age, Bobby and Ginny moved to their property in New Florence. Ginny was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution in Montgomery County and Montgomery County Historical Society and the Order of the Eastern Star, Winfield. She was very outgoing and loved spending time with her beloved husband Bobby, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. 

She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Bobby Cummings of New Florence, formerly of Winfield; three sons; Bill Cummings of New Florence, Chris Cummings of New Florence, Wayne (Rita) Cummings of Big Springs, Mo.; four granddaughters; Alyssa Creech of Moscow Mills, Caitlin Hemberger of St. Charles, Zoe Cummings of Old Monroe and Mia Jennings of Big Springs, Mo.; one great-granddaughter, Brylie Haver of Moscow Mills; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Sidney Cooksey.
