Owensville High School students on the homecoming court (above, in front, from left) include senior king and queen candidates Wyatt Jahnsen, Caitlyn Linders, Emma Jahnsen, Trevor Abernathy, Ben Woemmel and Kyra Binkhoelter; attendants in back (from left) include juniors Garret West and Kaylei Hurst, sophomores Olivia Vandegriffe along with freshmen Chance Clevenger and Camri Jones. Coronation will take place on Friday, Feb. 7 between the varsity girls and boys games at Owensville High School in a Gasconade County hardwood showdown between Owensville and Hermann. Also taking place along with homecoming coronation will be the announcing of the winner of the $10,000 Gasconade County Math and Science Scholarship to either a Hermann High School or Owensville High School senior to help them further their college education. A homecoming dance will be held following both basketball games Friday night. Remaining spirit days this week celebrating homecoming (weather permitting) include Panic at the Disco today (Wednesday) involving wearing Tye Dye. Thursday’s spirit day entitled “Blue Ain’t Your Color” encourages OHS students to wear blue to hex the Bearcats. Friday’s “True Colors” day means OHS students need to be decked out in their orange and black.
