Weatia Jane Cannon, 70, Green Ridge, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019, at Windsor Healthcare and Rehab in Windsor.
She was born July 30, 1949, to William Thomas and Lela Fay (Bryant) McCoy, in Center Ridge, Ark.
Weatia was an elementary school teacher for more than 30 years, retiring from Owensville schools in 2001. She was also active in volunteering at Green Ridge Schools. She was also a substitute teacher at Green Ridge Schools.
She was preceded in death by parents, William and Lela; and brothers, Robert Steele and Elwood McCoy.
She is survived by son, Jason Cannon and wife Julie of Green Ridge; sisters, Jeannine McCoy of Lubbock, Texas, and Jan Powell and husband Allen of Dexter; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Friday, Dec. 27, at Rae Funeral Chapel in Sedalia with Andy and Jamie Hoos officiating. Memorial contributions suggested to Green Ridge School Athletic Department.
