Weekend community testing event has revealed nine new cases of Covid-19 so far, but unsure of residency

A community testing event for Covid-19 was held at the Washington fairgrounds Saturday, Sunday and Monday, June 13 - 15.

Presiding Commissioner Tim Brinker reports that a total of 308 people were tested in that three-day period. So far, nine of those people have tested positive, but it is not yet determined whether those nine were from Franklin County or elsewhere. Those results are not included in this week’s data.

On Thursday, June 11, Brinker reported 163 cases in the county to that point. There were 25 active cases, 18 deaths and 120 recoveries.

There were no additional deaths reported this week.

Two new positive cases were reported Thursday and four people were declared recovered, leaving 23 active cases.

On Monday, June 15, Brinker reported two more cases and one new recovery, making 24 active cases.

Two new cases were reported Tuesday, June 16 and two more recoveries.

At the end of business Tuesday, there were a total of 169 cases in the county. 127 of those had recovered, 18 died. There are 24 current cases in the county with 12 in skilled nursing facilities and another 12 throughout the county.

There have been no reported cases in Gerald.
