The purpose of our military is to protect America from our enemies. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, in a 2015 Republican presidential debate, was a little more blunt when he said, “The purpose of the military is to kill people and break things. It’s not to transform the culture by trying out some ideas that some people think would make us a different country and more diverse.”
President Joe Biden’s administration is taking the opposite approach. They seem to think our military is here to push social boundaries to the extreme.
Another straw was placed on the camel’s back last week when the U.S. Navy announced a Drag Queen called “Harpy Daniels” as a new “Digital Ambassador” to increase recruitment.
This move has been tagged as the Navy’s “Bud Light moment.”
Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, in an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal, wrote, “My concern is that our new national obsession with sexuality, race and gender is focused on self rather than on purpose, ability or service. I spent 40 years recruiting young men to play football. What the Navy is doing isn’t a good recruiting strategy.”
“The Army fell 15,000 recruits short of its goal last year — that’s an entire division. This is in addition to the 8,000 enlisted service members who were kicked out because they didn’t comply with President Biden’s vaccine mandate. Reports show this year’s recruiting may be even worse, with four of the six military branches on track to miss their recruitment goals,” he wrote.
Unsurprisingly, all military branches since Biden became president are having problems meeting recruitment goals. Their concern is NOT protecting America from our enemies.
The website Ranker.com lists the most important military leaders in the history of the United States. Their top 10 are as follows: George Washington, George S. Patton, Ulysses S. Grant, Chester W. Nimitz, Dwight D. Eisenhower, George Marshall, William Tecumseh Sherman, Nathanael Greene, Stonewall Jackson and John J. Pershing.
Number 14 on their list is Missouri’s Omar Bradley. The feature from last week’s column, Robert E. Lee, came in at number 15.
Who among you thinks any of these leaders would approve of a Drag Queen to promote the Navy?
Critical Race Theory (CRT) can be described as making race the “prism through which all aspects of American life are viewed.”
Who thinks our military should spend time, money and energy on woke policies and CRT?
General Mark Milley, America’s top military officer, speaking about CRT to the United States Military Academy, said, “It is important that we train and we understand, and I want to understand white rage.”
Returning to the Navy, Admiral Michael Gilday placed a 2019 book by Ibram X Kendi on the Navy’s recommended reading list. The book — How to Be an Antiracist — declares that capitalism is racist and that racism must be eliminated.
According to the Air Force Times, Matthew Lohmeier a commander of the 11th Space Warning Squadron, was discharged from his command in 2021 “after publicly criticizing the Pentagon’s diversity push and what he believes is Marxism spreading in the ranks.”
An article on FoxNews.com from last year says, “CriticalRace.org found that all five federal service academies have some form of critical race, anti-racism, or related objectives, which sometimes fall under the umbrella of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion goals.”
Biden’s next move to weaken our military is electric vehicles. With the belief that Climate Change is the biggest threat to humanity and not Communist China, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm recently testified before the Senate to support Biden’s goal to have an all-electric vehicle fleet in the U.S. military by the 2030s. They are talking more than transportation on military bases.
They are talking tanks. Can you imagine stopping a battle to charge your tanks?
The Radical Left is promoting these policies in the Biden Administration. The problem with this is that these policies will destroy our military. Unlike a business that goes woke — Anheuser-Bush — the consequences are more than lost sales and a drop in stock prices.
What is at stake is our way of life.
