Yvonne Lee (Gross) Neighbors, 85, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Festus Manor Nursing Home in Festus.
She was born Aug. 12, 1935, to Harry and Juanita (Ehlert) Gross.
Yvonne was raised at Drake and spent most of her adult life in St. Louis working many years as a cook at the Deaconess Manor Nursing Home. After retirement, she moved back to Owensville where she was a tireless worker for the Owensville Senior Center and an active member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by parents, Harry and Juanita; husband, Edward Neighbors; brothers, John and Larry Gross; sister-in-law, Darlene Gross; and granddaughter, Kimberly.
She is survived by son, Harry, of Festus; daughter, Barbara Mueller and husband Charles; granddaughters, Marsha Perego and husband Tim and Taylor Neighbors and special friend Gunnar Skaggs, all of Imperial; great-grandson, Carter Perego and Hayden Crabtree of Imperial; brothers, Charlie Gross and wife Phyllis and Joey Gross and wife Cheryl; sister-in-law, Andrew Gross; and nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were March 5 at the Jay P. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton with burial in the St. Paul Church Yard in St. Louis.
