Zella Mae (Ficke) Jones of Owensville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at her home.
She was born April 5, 1937 to Luther Ficke and Edith Hollandsworth Ficke at their home in Rosebud.
She was united in marriage on May 15, 1955 to Ronald Jones who preceded her in death Feb. 22, 2013. To this union four children born, Debra, Barbara, Randy and Ronald Jr.
Zella was employed by International Shoe Company and Brown Shoe Company for many years. She then went on to achieve her G.E.D. and completed cosmetology school in Rolla. She enjoyed the hair styling business.
Zella and Ronald enjoyed fishing trips to the Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends and road trips to Florida with their dear friends, Arlene and Dale White. Many special memories were shared on those trips. Zella enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with family and friends. Let’s hear a little Willie Nelsen Grandma. She always cared for her grandchildren and they loved her dearly. She loved auctions and yard sales.
Zella leaves family and friends with a variety of special memories.
Zella is survived by four children, Debra Mehrhoff, Barbara Litton, Randy Jones and wife Darlene, and Ronald Jones Jr. and wife Mary; 14 grandchildren, Ryan Mehrhoff and wife Nicki, Jason Mehrhoff and wife Wendy, Crystal Inman and husband Phillip, Dana Litton, Michael Litton and wife Tionia, Timothy Jones, Ricky Hinson, Rachel Jones, Michael Clark, Bill Clark, Sara Parker and husband Seth, Cole Jones, Greg Jones, Justin Jones and wife Amber; 32 great-grandchildren, Blake, Daxton, Carlee, Molly, Kami, Spencer, Mark, Stephanie, Noah, Nevlee, Naykia, Tyler, Olivia, Trenton, Tripp, Tyler, Morgan, Chance, Easton, Lincoln, Darren, Jacob, Landry, Ava, Maddox, Sloane, Arrow, Arabella, Jordan, Sofia, Emma, Madilyn; five great-great grandchildren, Daniel, Skylar, Kylianna, Daniel, and Amiyah as well as many brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and many extended family members and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew her.
In addition to her husband, Ronald, Zella was preceded death by her parents Luther and Edith Ficke, one son-in-law, Norman Mehrhoff, one great grandchild, Hazel; one great-great grandchild, Thomas Michael; and brothers and sisters, Lester Ficke, Georgie Smith, Arlene Roark, Zelmae Ficke Jones, and Wilbur Ficke.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 22, at Crossroads Baptist Church in Bland with Danny Jarvis officiating. Interment was in Countryside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Sassmann’s Chapel, Bland.
