Filing for the April 2 Municipal Election closed Tuesday afternoon.
Two seats on the Bland Board of Aldermen will be decided on open write-in ballots since no one filed for either position.
Bland had an unexpired one-year term for mayor, a one-year unexpired term for alderman, and two two-year aldermen terms open for candidates. Lee Medlock filed for mayor on Jan. 4. Sherry Spradling declared Dec. 17 for a two-year alderman seat. She is currently completing the unexpired term of former alderman Jim Carpenter.
The one-year unexpired term and a two-year term will be decided by write-ins with open rules applying since no one filed for either position.
At least four voting districts in the county will not require an election since candidates who filed for the open seats will not face opposition, according to Gasconade County Clerk Lesa Lietzow.
In the Gasconade County R-2 School District, both incumbents Joyce Lowes and Russ Farrell, filed on the opening day back on Dec. 11. No other candidates filed.
Kelly Cornwell (sub-district 1) and Leona Kurrelmeyer (sub-district 4) both filed for seats as board of directors members for the Owensville Area Ambulance District, according to the County Clerk’s office.
Filing and unopposed for board of director seats for the Gasconade Manor Nursing Home District were Betty Estes (district 1) and Roger Jett (district 2).
Filing for board seats for the Gasconade County Health Department were Mary Leeper, Pat Smith, and Glen Duncan.
