Linda Kay Bunting, 80, of Owensville, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Washington.

She was born Jan. 28, 1944, to Thomas Emery and Mary (Moore) Dudley in Hammond, Ind.

She was united in marriage to Gerald Bunting, March 21, 1977, in Mt. Vernon, Ill.

Linda retired from Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Creve Coeur as a medical technician. She volunteered for the Food Pantry in Owensville, especially fundraising events. She enjoyed being on the river and watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball games. She was a member of the Rosebud American Legion Auxiliary and a member of New Hope Methodist Church of Owensville.

She was preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Mary Dudley; son, Tracy Bunting; brothers, Roy, Thomas, Richard and James Dudley; sisters, Jenetta Pierson and Laurabelle Lee; granddaughter, Bailey Mistler; and great-granddaughter, Lila Celeste Feco.

Linda is survived by husband, Gerald Bunting of the home; sons, Stanley Schmittler of St. Louis, and Travis Mistler and wife Rachel of Owensville; brother, Victor Ivey and wife Jo of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; sister, Randola Weisenberger and husband Jack of Albion, Ill; grandchildren, Nikki Fairchild, Ashley Feco and husband Cory, Tony Kearbey, Alex Williams, Bryce Mistler and Brian Brookes and wife Taline; and great-grandchildren, Riley Hummel, Bret Hummel, Wesley Feco, Ezra Feco, and Bela Brookes.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 2, from 4–8 p.m. at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. at the Gottenstroeter Chapel with Pastor Les Dority officiating. Burial will be at New Woollam Zoar Cemetery in Owensville.

Memorials may be given to Helping Hands Food Pantry.
