Earning recognition for their efforts on the field, Hannah Koppelmann’s Owensville Dutchgirl softball team claimed more postseason accolades for their accomplishments in the classroom.

On the field, the Dutchgirl quintet of Emma Daniels (first team), Bailee Dare (first team), Hannah Keeney (second team), Kate Blankenship (second team) and Clara Julius (honorable mention) were recognized by the Four Rivers Conference (FRC).

Shortly after that list came out, the above-mentioned five Dutchgirls and seven of their teammates earned recognition from the FRC for their success in the classroom.

All 12 Dutchgirls were able to maintain at least a 3.6 grade-point average (GPA) and play in a certain percentage of varsity games.

Earning Academic All-FRC honors were Anya Binkhoelter, Grace Abell, Cailin Floyd, Cameron Ryerson, Danika Hinson, Lainey Moss, Issy Pratt, Julius, Daniels, Dare, Blankenship and Keeney.

Binkhoelter’s best game of the season came against St. Clair where she had a single, two runs batted in (RBI), a run scored and a walk against the Lady Bulldogs.

Abell scored a run in games against Webster Groves during the Peoples Bank Back to School Softball Classic in Sullivan and in a home game against Cuba at OHS Field.

Floyd’s best game statistically came against St. James where she had three hits, two RBI and two walks.

Ryerson recorded a season-high two hits in a FRC road game at Pacific.

Hinson had two doubles among a season-high three hits against Wright City to go with a RBI and a run scored.

Moss’ best offensive output of her freshman season came against St. James where she had a double and a triple to help her drive in four runs and score two more.

Pratt was able to cross the plate once in games against Linn, Belle and Cuba.

Along with Hinson, Julius’ best game offensively came against Wright City’s Lady Wildcats to the tune of three hits, four RBIs and two runs scored.

Daniels had three hits and four runs scored against Vienna at the Owensville Tournament to go along with three hits, three RBIs and three runs scored against Cuba.

Dare also had a day against Wright City with two doubles and a home run leading to five RBIs and two runs scored.

Blankenship doubled up on Russellville during her final Owensville Tournament with a pair of doubles and four RBIs against the Lady Indians.

Keeney recorded 28 strikeouts in a three-day span setting down 15 against St. James before striking out a baker’s dozen (13) against St. Clair two days later back in September.

At the plate, Keeney drove in a career-high five RBIs against Vienna while also scoring four runs to go with her double-digit strikeout efforts against St. James and St. Clair.
