Albert Anthony Allen, 92, Leslie, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023.

He was born Sept. 16, 1931, to Charles C. and Cecelia (Jewett) Allen.

He was united in marriage to Ruby Weirich, Oct. 20, 1951, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Union.

Albert worked at Washington Lumber Company in Washington, and after nearly 40 years with the company, he retired in 1993. After retirement, Albert spent much of his time developing and working on his farm in Leslie, he also coached numerous baseball and softball teams in the Union and Washington communities. He was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Union and attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church while the family lived in Washington. He was a third-degree, 62-year member of Knights of Columbus.

Albert was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Ceclia; parents-in-law, Randolph and Emma (Mincemeyer) Weirich; wife of 66 years, Ruby; brothers, Raymond C. Allen, Lawrence Allen (Marilyn), and Charles Allen (Merileen); sister-in-law, Viola Cowan; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Schuler, Floyd Weirich, Kermit Weirich, Homer Weirich, Harold Weirich, Russell Meyer and Leonard Brautigam.

He is survived by children, Randolph Allen and wife Lois of Florissant, Dennis Allen and wife Lynn of Paris, Tim Allen and wife Gail of Cape Girardeau, Mike Allen and wife Mickey of Leslie, Joyce Nieder and husband Jim of Washington, Nancy Miesner and husband Ron of New Haven; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Iola Jasper and husband Don of Foristell, and Viola Schuler of Sturgis, Mich.; and sisters-in-law, Ima Jean Meyer, Shirley Brautigam, Lorraine Weirich, Violet Weirich and Susie Weirich.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, Nov. 18, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Union, with the Rev. Peter Blake officiating. Burial was at Martin-Weirich Family Cemetery, Leslie.

Memorial donations are preferred to Martin-Weirich Family Cemetery.
