With the release of the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA) All-State squads, that closed the book on area diamond postseason honors from the recently completed spring season of Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) baseball.

Wayland McKague’s Hermann Bearcats finished 8-16 on the season while playing against All-State athletes from a total of nine other schools in Classes 2-5.

Crocker senior Tripp Caldwell was the lone Class 2 baseball player to earn MHSBCA All-State honors as a Class 2 Second-Team honorable mention selection facing the Bearcats.

Class 3 opponents on Hermann’s schedule that had MHSBCA All-State baseball players included Cuba, Belle, Centralia and South Callaway.

Centralia had six players earn All-State honors including sophomore Cooper Gehring as a first-team catcher, sophomore Grant Kendrick as a second-team catcher, freshman Oliver Bohlmeyer as a second-team outfielder, senior Chase Kempker as a second-team DH/Utility nod, senior Cole Higginson as an honorable mention outfielder and senior Anthony Ford as an honorable mention DH/Utility player.

South Callaway sophomore Eli Hutchison was also an honorable mention infielder for the Bulldogs who faced Hermann.

Nearly knocking off Owensville 9-8 during the regular season, the Bearcats took on the Dutchmen All-State trio of sophomore Tucker Sassmann (first-team infielder), Chase Weirich (honorable mention pitcher) and Chris Allen (honorable mention catcher).

Fellow Four Rivers Conference foe Sullivan also had three players earn MHSBCA All-State honors in Class 4 which included senior Chase Blue as a first-team infielder, junior Landen Doza as a second-team outfielder and senior Mitchell Garner as a second-team DH/Utility pick.

MHSBCA Class 5 baseball players earning All-State honors after facing the Bearcats included Union senior Klay Muser as an honorable mention pitcher and Pacific senior Colton Kossuth as a second-team outfielder.

Steven Kemp’s Owensville Dutchmen took on players from 15 schools in classes 2-5 that earned MHSBCA All-State honors.

Facing the MSHSAA Class 2 State Champions in Faith Christian Academy (FCA) at the WOW Wood Bat Tournament in St. Joseph on April 18, five players from FCA  earned All-State honors including senior Sam Akins as a first-team pitcher, senior Rhett Lehr as a first-team catcher, senior Max McMillen as a first-team infielder, Jett York as a first-team infielder and senior Chase Newton as a second-team infielder.

OHS also took on East Carter during the Steve Lael Leadoff Classic in Branson with senior Brady Smith (first-team pitcher) and Bryce Stahl (second-team infielder) earning All-State honors for the Redbirds.

Cuba’s Braden Gipson was the lone athlete in Class 3 baseball to earn MHSBCA All-State honors among Owensville opponents as a second-team DH/Utility selection.

Class 4 baseball players joining OHS’ Tucker Sassmann, Chase Weirich and Chris Allen earning MHSBCA All-State honors include Fulton senior Gage Tiffany (first-team pitcher), Boonville senior Brody Porter (first-team pitcher), Moberly senior Max Richardson (first-team pitcher), Potosi senior Landon Johnson (first-team infielder), Sullivan senior Chase Blue (first-team infielder), Mexico senior Drew DeMint (first-team outfielder) Southern Boone sophomore Nolan Ash (first-team DH/Utility), Moberly senior Nolan Samuel (second-team pitcher), Chillicothe junior Howie Donoho (second-team infielder), Sullivan junior Landen Doza (second-team outfielder) Sullivan senior Mitchell Garner (second-team DH/Utility), Southern Boone senior Jackson Woodward (honorable mention catcher), Eldon sophomore Khale Hammond (honorable mention catcher), Benton freshman Carson Coy (honorable mention infielder), Eldon junior Drew Hinds (honorable mention infielder), Mexico senior Chance McCarty (honorable mention infielder), Benton junior Zaidyn Woodward (honorable mention outfielder), Southern Boone junior Zach DeHaas (honorable mention DH/Utility), Moberly junior Kaden Abel (honorable mention DH/Utility), Muser and Kossuth.
