Being thankful

Posted

By the time this edition of The Gasconade County Republican hits stores and businesses in Owensville and the surrounding area, it will be one day until Thanksgiving.

That signals time for area coaches, administrators and media members to share what they are thankful for:

Cullen VanLeer (Dutchmen Basketball) - I am thankful for my family. Both my immediate family, extended family, and basketball family. They are the people i care about most and appreciate all the love and passion they fuel me with.

Matt Johnson (Activities Director) - I am thankful for a great coaching staff that genuinely cares for our student athletes and I am grateful for the best administration that I have ever worked for.

Shane Hunt (8th Grade Dutchmen Basketball) - I’m thankful for my family, friends, my employment in a great school district and the salvation provided for me by Jesus Christ.

Zach Bollmann (Dutchgirl Wrestling) - I’m thankful for the relationships that coaching has opened up for me. We have some of the most genuine, hardworking kids in our community that make my job extremely easy and enjoyable! Those same kids are what make me happy to have Owensville as my home.

Bill Battle (Washington Missourian Sports Editor) - I’m thankful for all the amazing teams and coaches we have in the area to work with in putting stories together. I’m also thankful for the faithful readers who share an encouraging word from time to time.

David Koppelmann (OHS Cross Country) - I’m thankful to be able to coach exceptional student-athletes in the same school that fostered my love for athletics and gave me so many memories. I’m thankful to see breakthroughs on and off the course/track in so many kids every year.

Nathan Cabot (Dutchmen Football) - I am thankful for my incredible family and for being a part of an amazing school district.
