Congratulations and Best Wishes are in order on two major levels of importance to all of us in Osage County and beyond.
First, on the retirement of Jerry Voss from active participation in the operation of the Unterrified Democrat. Jerry's story was well presented in last week's issue and much more about her contributions to our community and state could be added. I was privileged to be around during her time at the UD and participated in a few of her adventures.
The second level where congratulations are in order is the successful transition of the paper into the hands of the Warden family. I am aware that the newspaper business in the current environment can be a real challenge, but the UD, by continuing to emphasize local news while providing editorial content highly relevant to local interests and attitudes, seems to have the formula for long-term success and service to our community.
So thank you Jerry (and Ralph too) for a career well spent, and to the Wardens for continuing a valuable newspaper for our community.
