Billie Maxine Waters, 88, Owensville, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Frene Valley in Owensville.
She was born July 27, 1932, to Russell and Josie (Gunther) Lay at Cook Station.
She was united in marriage to John Waters May 28, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Valley Park
Billie loved spending time with her family, was a devoted wife, Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. She enjoyed cheering on her St. Louis Cardinals and in younger days made all the family camping vacations special. Billie was always ready to share her life stories and her witty humor always made them so special.
Billie was preceded in death by parents, Russell and Josie; husband, John; daughter, Melanie Waters; brothers, Marvin and Morris Lay; and sisters, Mildred Rummel and Patricia Cox.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Waters and wife Karen of Owensville, Dan Waters and wife Cindy of Linn Creek; sister, Michelle Warnhoff of St. Louis; brother, Russell Lay and wife Betty of Jacksonville, Ark.; and by eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Her body was donated to science and no services are planned.
