Carolyn A. Metzler, 79, of Hermann, passed away Dec. 22, 2023, at StoneBridge Hermann.
She was born June 12, 1944, to Orval and Helen (Scholten) Metzler in Rhineland.
Carolyn was a hairdresser and owned her own shop called the Beauty Shop. When she moved to Hermann she worked at Hermann Hospital. She was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, where she was also a member of the Ladies Sodality.
She is preceded in death by parents, Orval and Helen; brothers, Gerald “Ferd” Metzler and Wendell “Metz” Metzler and wife Jackie; and brothers-in-law, Albert Bokermann and Walter Winkelmann.
Carolyn is survived by sisters, Melba Bokermann of Kirkwood and Mildred “Fae” Winkelmann of Hermann; brother, Valerian “Mannie” Metzler and wife Vera of Fenton; and sister-in-law, Lavita Metzler of St. Charles.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Thursday, Dec. 28, at St. George Church, Hermann, with Father Philip Niekamp officiating.
Burial was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Rhineland. Memorials may be given to St. George School or Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer.
