The board of aldermen immediately went into executive session to discuss the subject.
When they returned to open session at 12:21 they had several announcements.
The resignation of Mike Link, a full time employee in the public works department, was accepted effective the following day, July 29.
Dave Defrenne, a part time worker in the department, will now go to full time employment. He will be paid $16 an hour.
Shelley Smythe has been hired as the new city clerk. She will begin working Aug. 15 at the rate of $19 per hour.
Holly Obernberger, who was serving as the interim city clerk, will return to her original position as utility clerk/deputy city clerk at
$15 per hour. She has served in the head spot at city hall since Be Ahring left in June.
Smythe served as the city’s utility clerk in 2020.
