A special meeting was held at noon Thursday, July 28, to work out personnel issues.

The board of aldermen immediately went into executive session to discuss the subject.

When they returned to open session at 12:21 they had several announcements.

The resignation of Mike Link, a full time employee in the public works department, was accepted effective the following day, July 29.

Dave Defrenne, a part time worker in the department, will now go to full time employment. He will be paid $16 an hour.

Shelley Smythe has been hired as the new city clerk. She will begin working Aug. 15 at the rate of $19 per hour.

Holly Obernberger, who was serving as the interim city clerk, will return to her original position as utility clerk/deputy city clerk at
$15 per hour. She has served in the head spot at city hall since Be Ahring left in June.

Smythe served as the city’s utility clerk in 2020.
