Claire Ann Wyrick, lovingly known as “Grandma Sally,” 94, Owensville, passed away peacefully on Sept. 17, 2026, surrounded by the loved ones who meant so much to her.
She was one of six children born to Agnes and Wenzel Wodohodsky.
Claire was united in marriage to Henry Wyrick Dec. 10, 1951, in Pickett, Ark. and their union was blessed with six sons.
She was giving, loving, funny, and had a way of making everyone around her feel like family. Claire had an incredible sense of humor and a heart that always seemed to have room for one more. She loved deeply, gave generously, and was known for her wonderful cooking that brought family and loved ones together around the table. Claire was truly an amazing woman.
She was preceded in death by husband, Henry; parents, Wenzel and Agnes; sons, Steve, John, Jim, William and Ronnie Wyrick; and siblings, Joe and Louis Wodohodsky, Lorraine Mueller and Rosemary Blyue.
Sally is survived by son, Robert Wyrick of Owensville; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Wodohodsky and wife Shirley of Dixon; daughter-in-law, Jamie Wyrick of Owensville; as well as countless other family and loved ones. She also opened her heart and home to others throughout her life, loving them as her own.
She will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, stories, and the memories made around her table will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service was held Friday, Sept. 25, at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Union, with Pastor Clyde Zelch speaking.
